When bots blow the whistle.

Anyone from a secretary to a CEO can be a whistleblower. Apparently, so can robots.

A firm that uses data to identify fraud in government programs just received a $1 million reward under the False Claims Act for exposing PPP fraud.

That firm “uses data to investigate large-scale corporate fraud . . . It uses computational statistics to match entities across multiple resources such as databases, social media, corporate filings, and other sources.”

Using that data, it identified that Empire Roofing, a Texas based roofing contractor, had falsely certifying that eight of their affiliates were eligible to receive loans through the Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Paycheck Protection Program (PPP).

Pretty impressive work. I look forward to seeing what they can do in the future.
